I'm still alive

And I'm still very active as an artist, I just have been too lazy to update this blog. For more consistent updates from me please check my Tumblr .

Classes have been stressful for me lately. Lots of work, lots of broken printers, lots of shit weather. Making it though. Just two more weeks of school left! Haha!

SO art, there is plenty. This is about a month's worth of doodles and sketches and stuff:

Here have from Kenshin and Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin. I still fucking love that series. I reread the manga at least once a year. It was just incredible and the characters were awesome. Kaoru, while annoying as all hell, was still perfect for Kenshin.

...Uh. This was a request someone made to aummy that she had to fulfill. There is honestly nothing I can say about this one. Just Aradia and Vriska from Homestuck rapping about apples on unicorns. Nothing much to see here.

Ok so i'm on spring break. hanging at moms. Blah blah. Not much to talk about. I already know this break won't last long enough for me. Work 9 hours tomorrow, sigh, oh well, money.

Uh, school's been keeping me plenty busy. I've been super into Grey's Anatomy (its a medical soap opera i love it). I'm working on some cgs for JAFAX. So I guess I actually need to get drawing soon, huh.

Haven't finished that Elk cg because, quite honestly, I hate it. The folds are nice, but I hate it XD.

That's actually Revy from Black Lagoon with her hair down. I tried really hard to make her look muscular, since she is. It'll look more like Revy when its coloured and when I add her tattoos.

My friend Maril asked me to draw Gamzee from Homestuck ( Click HOMESTUCK to read the comic. Its good, but very long). He's apparently a Faygo addict which I can totally understand ( I drank a 2-liter of red faygo pop in one night. HA!) Planning on colouring this. ALSO CHECK OUT MY SNAZZY SIGNATURE.

Elk- Finally working on it again.

Working through my WIPs. This was the closest to finished. Its almost done now. About another hour or two of work left on it. May not look it but i've spent upwards of 12 hours on this this ):.

The folds were SO tricky to get right. I restarted them like 4 times ):. But i'm satisfied with how they came out for the most part. I feel I need to make the colour less bright but that's just me.

I do not use very many layers at all :<

Busy day drawing!

Spend most of my day drawing and NOT packing for Sunday. HAHAHA oh well. I can pack tomorrow. Though I think my bedroom furniture is being moved in on Sunday. DAMN :< UGH SO STRESSFUL

Oh so right, drawings:

For Aumji! Its her character Lonny from her webcomic Pierrot ( Pierrot <--HERE). This was really fun to work on :D. I very rarely use colours that bright so it was interesting. Also balloons can shoot themselves.

Continuing my effort to draw my original characters more often we have, here, Storm. I have not drawn him since...4-5 years ago? Such a long while.

I changed his design a lot since, originally, he was just a darker haired Revenge. I straightened his hair and he has a more pointed nose than Revenge (not sure if reflected here). Thicker eyebrows as well. Male.

School started and shit. Its okay, just tiring. Not too much homework.  Figure drawing is fun!

Oops forgot to update

I forgot to update, guys, sorry! In my defense I was playing Dragon Age: Origins and...you all know how much I love that game. I know news about Dragon Age 2 has come out and...I'm less than happy about it. They're removing everything that made Dragon Age: Origins charming to make it more streamlined- like Mass Effect. The Mass Effect games are fine and all but, come on, DA:O was supposed to be a love letter to PC gamers who play RPGs. Sigh. I could go one for a long time about all the stuff that upsets me about it but I'll leave it at that.

So, art! I'm working on several RPs with friends, and I'm pretty excited. Reggie, get on AIM so we can discuss ours.

You know, for how fun Jafax was I completely avoided talking about it here, huh?

Well, not much to say. I met up with Eike. Had fun. It was hot and humid. Um, first day there was a lot of drama right before my sister, brother and I were gonna go off to the con. Like, the drama was big enough it almost ruined my plans and definitely ruined my mood for a while. It was intense. Anyway, I get to jafax, and we go around artist alley (met up with  Balled Kalilee ) and then down to the vendors. Then came back up, met Eike, went back down to the vendors. Bought the only copy of Black Lagoon in the entire con (my sister and I split the cost). So worth it, I love this show. I should draw fanart.

Anyway, my sister had to go to pick up Pucho from the groomers so she left with Kevin and told me to find my own ride home. Thankfully M-dawg hooked me up.

Uh, I bought a Kirby plushie. I spent some time drawing with Eike. Uh, but then it got late and so I went home. Though my ride couldn't drop me off at home, so she dropped me off at the bus central station and my sister picked me up.

I then spend the night cleaning and killed the steam vacuum. I fell into a heavy fatigue coma. Man, I was tired.

Next day I get up, get a text from a friend that she's already at the con. Got ready. Drove off to the con. Met up with Eike again. Had fun again. Her mom treated my brother and I to lunch <3! It was awesome. We didn't spend as much time at the con this day, the vendors were lame and I was getting tired.

Eike came over to my house and my mom took us to a birthday party. It was fun. We had cake and good nomnoms. We got back home and Eike and my brother played a ton of games while I drew her a picture. :D having her and her mom over was so fun!

So yes, that's a basic rundown.

I never draw my own characters

You know I was going to post this entry with no real commentary but I think there's a major issue here that I've been avoiding like a Tea Partier. I only ever draw my friend's characters and stuff, but so rarely do I attempt to draw my own. Am I embarrassed by my own designs? Do I have no pride in the characters and stories I've come up with? I don't know.

Seriously, I only occasionally draw my characters and so rarely do I do more than a simple half-assed sketch, whilst I do full out sketches and colored doodles of my friends' stuff. Now this isn't an attack or anything on my friends' characters! I just feel...Like I'm not doing enough for myself. Even Harlequin and Columbina have fallen to the wayside.

Add in that I'm definitely not trying any new things with my art and its upsetting. What is wrong with me? My art looks the same. The only mild difference is the nose. Everything else is the same. Same poses and everything.

What is up with me? This can't be art block. Is there improvement in my art and I'm not seeing it.

Oh I disgust myself. But not in a bad way. Eugh, this will be hard to explain. Its like...a disgust that's pushing me to try new things. I have been experimenting with style but I'm not comfortable with it. I had just been hoping that in more normal doodles one would be able to see a difference and I'm not.

WELL enough of that bullshit, on to today's drawings!
